New Volkswagen Tiguan
Cool, calm and connected, the new Volkswagen Tiguan SUV is now available from Pulman Volkswagen in Durham and Sunderland. This family SUV is equipped with the latest technology and features to keep you and your passengers safe, comfortable and entertained on journeys.
The new Volkswagen Tiguan was released in 2016 and has since won a number of awards. In 2017, the Tiguan was among the three finalists for the ‘World Car of the Year’ and from this sales dramatically increased with almost 800,000 Tiguans delivered in 2018 and the five millionth Tiguan left the assembly line in 2019! The Tiguan isn’t short on high rating reviews either scoring a 4 star rating out of 5 from WhatCar? reviews and 8 out of 10 from Top Gear.
Design & Technology
The Tiguan SUV is designed to stand out on the road thanks to its strong and elegant design. The new Tiguan is longer and lower than the previous generation which provides more space and improves the handling and drive.
The LED lights increase visibility at night and during poor weather conditions such as fog, but don’t worry they don’t dazzle other drivers! To add to this the LED lights use low power consumption and have a long service life.
The new Volkswagen Tiguan is equipped with a number of driver assistance systems. Lane Assist comes as standard and ensures you don’t veer into another lane by reading the lane markings (once your speed is above 40mph). The optional Area View shows you a full 360 degree vision on your infotainment screen which show 12 possible live views; this helps in many situations such as parking or leaving a tight space, leaving your drive and so on.
Keep all of your passengers entertained with the composition media infotainment system which features DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and USB connection to name a few. Plus, if you connect to the Car-Net App-Connect you’ll be able to access compatible apps from your smartphone which will mirror on the infotainment system such as maps, music, messaging and more.
Comfort & Space
When it comes to comfort and space for your passengers, the Volkswagen Tiguan isn’t shy on space! First up although the Tiguan may seem like a smaller family SUV there’s plenty of room for the front passenger and driver; there’s many options to adjust the steering wheel as well as the seat height and position.
There’s still plenty of room for the rear passengers; if there’s only two back seat passengers there’s a centre armrest which is equipped with a couple of handy cupholders so there should be no spillages in the back (we can’t promise that though!). Plus, the Tiguan comes with folding tables on the back of the front passenger seats which are capable of holding tablets up and come with cupholders. Many of the models come with three-zone climate control allowing the rear passengers to adjust the temperature to suit them independently to the front passengers.
The boot space offers an impressive 615 litres which increases to 1,655 litres when the rear seats are folded down. The boot is square shaped making loading of luggage, shopping etc… simple plus there are a number of net partitions and height-adjustable floor to increase the space.
The 4MOTION models include 4MOTION Active Control which allows you to choose from 4 driving modes and can be selected to suit the weather and road conditions; On-road, Off-road, Off-road individual and Snow. These modes provide a much more comfortable drive when cruising along different terrains and conditions.
The Tiguan SUV is available in a number of trims with stylish optional extras to suit your needs. The standard model is the S trim followed by the Match, SEL then the sporty R-Line Tech. View the trims & specifications.
